Anti Leprosy Day.. sharing experience

On every last Sunday of January, Anti - Leprosy Day is observed throughout the world, while in India it is on every 30th  January - the "Martyrs Day", the day the Great Soul, Mahatma Gandhi left the world. It was Raoul Follereau who initiated the idea of observing "Anti- Leprosy Day" our inspiration after who AIFO (Associazione Italiana Amici Di Raoul Follereau) came into existence now celebrating its Golden Jubilee.
I am working in the field of leprosy since 1983 (till date) and this particular day made me very sad, but last year, there was a change. My "Boss" Mr.M.V.Jose (also my trainee in leprosy) last year called me and said, shall we make a difference and there was a change, an enchanting change indeed. It was instead Anti- Leprosy Day a Leprosy Day Celebrations. Nearing about a hundred persons affected due to leprosy where encouraged to gather at "Sumanahalli" a centre for leprosy related activities in Bangalore (our partners) - it was all celebrations. The programme was all theirs, during which they shared their happiness, joy, and also incidents which was sad. They shared their experiences how they could over come (over coming), while occasionally they also gave us (Staff, visitors, students and others) a chance to participate. There where songs and dance all the way to end with a nice lunch. We all parted with a heart feeling for the next.
The next year - 2012 plan: We are planning to celebrate in the North East, Tezpur District in the State of Assam. A small footwear unit will be established, which is expected to provide special footwear, with a hope to expand for better coverage, and following will be the expected "Celebrations". I beg, pray for your kind wishes to make this event successful, while Sumanahalli will continue with the changed approach.
And meanwhile, my dear readers (friends) please have a small place in your heart for all people affected due to leprosy, remembering that they are persons. Their dignity and deserved Rights should be provided and preserved. Keep tasting bitter turns out to be sweet, observing things which looks ugly becomes beautiful. Do not feel frightened, extend your feelings and hands to support and hope for a day grand children will feel proud off, with a world without Leprosy.

Where is the end, will it ever end... that is for the sea. But for leprosy there should be an end - the misery, stigma and discrimination will end... it needs communications and participation.
Remember to remember "Leprosy Day .. with a change if possible participate last Sunday-29th of January 2012 ..30th January 2012 (India) if possible participate.
Keep in touch....
Thank you

Copy Cat:

*Do not feel growing old to stay young in mind, documentation is one good habit for a nice doctor - that is what our wise Dr. William Osler said.
Copied form a famous book authored by Robin Sharma: – A nice book indeed
Read below and start writing down a Journal of your own - is it already too late than never…
Keep a Journal - Diary:
Maintaining a daily Journal is one of the best personal growth initiatives one will ever take. Writing down your daily experiences along with the lessons you have drawn from them will make you wiser with each passing day. One will develop self-awareness and make fewer mistakes. And keeping a journal will help clarify your intentions so that you remain focused on the things that truly count.
Writing a journal offers you the opportunity to have regular one-on-one conversations with yourself. It forces you to do some deep thinking in a world where deep thinking is a thing of the past. It will also make one a clearer thinker and help you live in a more intentional and enlightened way, In addition, it provides a central place where you can record your insights on important issues, note key success strategies that have worked for you and commit to all those things you know are important to achieve for a high- quality professional, personal and spiritual life, And ones personal journal gives on a private place to flex their imagination and define their dreams.
A journal is not a diary. A diary is a place where one records events while a journal is a place where the events are analyzed, evaluated and recorded. Keeping a journal encourages one to consider what to do, why to do and what is learnt from all that is been done. Writing in a journal promotes personal growth and wisdom by giving one a forum to study and then leverage ones post for greater success in future.
Medical researchers have even found that writing in a private journal for as little time as 15 minutes a day can improve health, functioning of immune system and ones overall attitude. We need to check this out! If it really helps- well and good, if not nothing is lost…
Remember if your life is worth thinking about, it is worth writing about it.
Affectionately: Mani

Bidar's Beauty

Madame Tussauds- London, is the most famous name associated with wax museums, there are more museums at Amsterdam, Berling, Hong kong, Shanghai, three in the United States, one in Canada. There are lot more created by different people in many parts of the world. India to has wax museums at Ooty, Goa and Mysore. Well, well, well – they are all wax model museums (Search and a lot more can be listed out).
But with a difference at Bidar a district head quarters in Karnataka, considered to be under developed.Historically this area belonged to the Kakatiyas from Warangal, which was later on captured by Mohumad Bin Tuglak (1323 AD) and after some time during 16th century became an important town of Bahamini Sultans.
During the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Bidar - Bareed Shahi - a park was established in the modern Bidar town. And in this park are wonderful life sized molded models apparently created using cement and paint made by the local artisans.

Make sure to visit when you are in and around Hyderabad - it takes about 2-3hours to reach Bidar. And other historical places to visit would be the Bidar fort a place, which should not be missed.
Thank you for your kind attention:

Birds of the Killingworth

It was long time ago - years it would be, when I was studying 4th standard we used to have "Reader's"(text book) - named as "Tales the Reader tells" and there was a wonderful lesson in it. The title of the lesson was "Birds of Killingworth". In short summary it was a story about a town called "Killing Worth" where the farmers faced problems with birds and they presumed that the birds where destroying their yield. And they decided and got rid of them only to realize that they landed up with much more serious problems caused by insects and worms. And after the great realization they brought back birds in cages and set them free finally to live again in peace and harmony.
Now coming to the present stage of time, I now realize that the wonderful sparrows are missing. I had a rare chance of spotting them at the Bengalooru Airport, which made me feel so happy listing to their chirp and indeed it was after years I heard again.

It was Guntakal a small little railway town I grew up and as young boys we used to sport catapult to hunt them down and while doing so fortunately got caught by aunty (thotha)only to get beaten up, after which we gave up our hunting practices. Well that activity did not perish them all away, but the introduction of ceiling fans in all the railway quarters which caused the disaster I guess. The same phenomena I could notice at Nellore. My wife's house had a thatched room upstairs (1985- feb) which had no ceiling fan and I had a company of these wonderful birds singing for their beloved ones. And after the fan was introduced I could see one by one of them getting killed and now - I hardly find them there. What a pity! I hope and wish that A/C residences would encourage dwelling place for them .... what a wish! and give me an opportunity to write a story similar to "The Birds of the Killingworth"............

Welcome to my Blog

Dear Every One,
Welcome to my blog Pearls Language which means Mani's (Pearl) language. It had been a desire of mine to start a blog of mine to communicate with you all about my views and experiences mainly to keep in touch with all the advanced technologies.
Over years I had been searching to understand the meaning of love and had varieties of views and explanations, finally I picked the one which attracted me the most - " Love is sharing feelings" as said by Raoul Follereau a humanist and an inspiration for the formation of the Organization I work for - AIFO (Italian Association of Amici di Raoul Follereau). And so therefore I look forward to share  feeling as a friend (Amici) with you all.
It was a long way of struggle combined with joy and sorrows to reach the current status of mine and it is time to record all those wonderful experiences which should not to be forgotten- some of them are nostalgic.
let me keep in touch
with lots of affection
